Extraqueericular is a queer-owned and operated social enterprise for the LGBTQIA+ community. Our mission is to support Non-governmental Organisations (NGO) that are advocating for the rights of and providing wellbeing services to LGBT+ people in the 35 Commonwealth countries where being gay is criminalised. We enourage everyone to read our constitution and explore ways we can work together to improve the lives of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Commonwealth.

Thirty-five of the Commonwealth's 53 nations, representing two billion people, criminalize homosexual activity. Penalties range from jail time to execution.

How we can help

Our assistance takes many different forms and is defined and determined by the needs of the NGOs that partner with us. Ways we can help include:

  • Development of custom Web-based solutions (i.e. websites, software applications, digital deliverables, etc.)
  • Donations of professional skills, equipment, consulting, or research
  • Appealing to sympathetic political figures in the United Kingdom
  • Promoting and publicising projects for Extraqueericular members to volunteer their skills and time for partner NGOs remotely or in-person
  • Fundraising
  • Awareness raising
  • Donations of time. Check out our Community Hours

Community Hours

Every month we offer 4 hours of free website maintenance and consulting to registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, and community groups that work on issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community. This work can be done remotely or on-site within London zones 1 and 2.

Please contact us and we will send you the link to book these hours. Please put "Community Hours" in your message.

Safer Spaces Pop-ups *NEW*

In the summer of 2019, Extraqueericular will sponsor a monthly event called the Safer Spaces Pop-up. This is a travelling event that takes place every month in smaller cities around the UK, with the future goal of expanding to other countries. The Safer Spaces Pop-up will take place in under-utilised and non-traditional spaces and take on various formats such as wellness services, open mics, co-working sessions, and board game nights to name a few.

Please email us on extraqueericular{at}gmail{dot}com and if you are interested in hosting a Safer Spaces Pop-up in your city. Please put "Safer Spaces Pop-ups" in your message.
